Commentary: The GOP Has an Obligation to Protect Its Voters

One of the most startling gaps in the literature on the function of political parties is the lack of discussion about the most important reason they exist: to protect their voters from the abuses of government and the totalitarian temptations of the opposition party.

  1. The GOP is mostly a pretend opposition party, as evidenced not by what they do, but rather by the things they don't do. And the people are the source of the corruption, lazily blaming the political class that they themselves have chosen again and again over decades. They cling to their incumbents and the convenience of remote voting over a period of weeks. US people are too corrupt for anything other than in-person dyed purple finger voting methods. But the people are too apathetic and weak to effect any real changes to any failed policies. People like to proclaim we're too smart to become like the Venezuelans because our great-grandparents beat Shitler. After hubris comes nemesis.

  2. What happened to “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”. That concept seams to have been forgotten or ignored by our elected betters and TPTB. Oh how the culling of TPTB is needed, it’s coming and TPTB know it. FFF/22BOH

I haven't laughed this hard in some time.

Nice sentiment, but Congress is of the opposite opinion as demonstrated by their actions.

They point fingers at each other to keep us busy - so we don't see what "our rep" is doing to screw us.
