18 reminds me of a story a black co-worker told me once. His brother mouthed-off to his mother and she hauled-off and slapped him hard - out cold on the floor. His sister exclaimed, "Momma, you done kilt that boy!" I think his mom knew what she was doing - he turned out to be a great guy.
#18 - A black friend of mine discovered he was deaf in one ear when, as a boy, he was walking down the street and his mom was yelling something from the other side of the street on what turned out to be his deaf side. I guess he looked like he was ignoring her. She came on across. He said he had no idea why his mom was suddenly beatng on him.
#14 "The Captain said to fire at Will and I said, 'Who is he?'. The durn fool got so doggone mad he fired his gun at me, in that war, that crazy war." A song my dad, an amateur country/folk singer used to sing. That's the only line I remember.
#1: When I see those family type stickers (on a minivan, almost always) there's a part of me that wants to order a sticker of a young girlfriend to put next to the dad, knowing one day his wife will notice it. But it never gets past the idea phase.
#5: Me, running into literally anyone I know.
#18: I'm White, and I can tell you that "shut up mom" led to a few bad days for me. It isn't something that happened twice. Even during my "edgy teen dipshit" phase I didn't cross that line again.

DeleteGreat array today, I really loved #19
ReplyDeleteLooks like Hunter. Couldn't be "The Big Guy' or he'd be in the shower with his 11 year old daughter.

ReplyDelete18. If I had ever told my mom to shut up she'd have killed me. When my dad got home he'd have killed me again.
ReplyDeleteYup! I died a few times when I was young!
DeleteDitto for me. That's the way it should be in my opinion.
DeleteI read on here a while ago that the ass wuppin generation turned out better than the time out generation. Arty

I got messed up so bad by my mom AND dad for telling my mom to shut up I can't, to this day, tell any woman to shut up.
