TN bill to allow teachers to carry guns advances

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A bill that would allow teachers in Tennessee to carry guns in schools passed through the Education Administration Committee in a 12-6 vote Wednesday.

Lawmakers have tried to pass teacher carry laws before, but they didn’t have all the provisions included in HB 1202.

  1. While they are at it, drop all the stupid “Gun Free Zones”, bullshit. Thats one of the stupidest thought process ever developed. It’s has nothing with safety at all. Laws like these only make it easier for the crazies to maximize their kills. Hey do you see the trannie crazies going to gun ranges to kill Christian’s? I thought not. There are so many stupid feel good laws on the books that need to be gone!!! Rant over.

    1. School shootings. Pass a law legally prohibiting the adults in a school from protecting the children, wait for the occasional nut case, blame Republicans and guns, never mention said law, rinse and repeat. Frequently talk about school shootings on the news so the nut cases never forget. (So people will give up their guns. After all, people will not willingly get in the boxcars.)

  2. There is one part of the law that is totally backwards: requiring the school announce the presence of armed teachers. F*cking idiotic. That just sends shooters to schools that AREN'T properly staffed. Much better to forbid any signage or public announcement of the presence or absence of armed staff at any school. Make the shooters wonder if they are entering a hard target or a soft one.

    1. It worked at the last school shooting. Reason the girl thingy didn't shoot a public school was all the security in and around it. That Christian school, not so much.

Tell them. Then shoot them when they show up anyways.

  3. If the commie teachers & faculty have guns, then arm the kids, too.
There are more than a few psycho educators who should not be left unattended with weapons (or children).
NRA classes belong in public schools more than Marxism.
School shootings could mean hunting club or competition, not blood bathes.
A gun-smithing shop for classes in high school is an idea to ponder. Who has a school that could handle that? Students?

    1. In the early '50' in Junior High School (before it ever became known as Middle School) the boys (human animals with something hanging down between their legs) used to take drafting, wood shop, and metal shop. Those who weren't going to college (parents usually didn't have the money) continued on with advanced courses in the above.
Four years of gunsmithing in High School is a stellar idea. Electronics for four years might be another. Rifle/pistol/shotgun training as a mandatory class for everyone beginning at least in Junior High School might be another.
Oops! Was that a barn owl or did I hear a Karen screeching?

    2. In addition to all those great hand on classes there was one more that was common back then. Many schools had a gun club. The kids would get together after school and do competitive target shooting. As I recall they mostly used smaller caliber rifles. Somewhere out there there is an interview of the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia where he recalls riding the New York subway to school carrying his club rifle. Try doing that in this day and age.
