Nothing says a secure facility like 8 women overdosing

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Eight female inmates overdosed at the Putnam County Jail.

The eight women who overdosed were transported to Cookeville Regional Center for treatment for snorting an apparent mixture of heroin and fentanyl at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. At this time, three inmates have been released.

Some of the inmates were near death, according to the sheriff.

  1. I would support any politician that offers to make mountains of fentanyl freely available to all prisoners. Just dump big old piles of it in the cafeteria.
This will solve a lot of headaches, trust me.

    1. I would support placing candy bowls filled with fentanyl in the halls of Congress and at all the alphabet agencies.

  7. One doesn't merely OD on fentanyl. The OD is only the latest step on the long path of illicit drug use. That their in a jail speaks loudly.

Everyone complicit in the jailbird arriving to the OD is elgible for their own mandated OD, hopefully leading to a long nap. Each gets one opportunity to defend themselves as to why they should be exempted.

Two or three days ago my drug addict nephew was found unresponsive lying next to a road. He was taken to the ER.
I predicted this more than ten yrs ago. Many in my family coddled him or refused to see the seriousness of the matter. My stance of taking strong, docused actions caused a lot of friction. Anyway, now the grief over that young man has come to this.
I am not pissed, but I know my nephew didn't get to where he is on his own. Lots of otherwise responsible adults looked the other way all the while him needing serious help.

He has a keen intellect and is a pleasure to be around when he's not high. Its so damn tragic. Most tragic is family who basically excused his damaging behaviors. His grandmother is sick with grief. She has done so much to help him get clean. And it was all swept away by certain adults.
    Please pray for Zachary.
