I get the impression that Illinois State Police kinda suck at their jobs

CHICAGO — Illinois State Police troopers chased an armed robbery crew after at least 13 people were targeted during an overnight spree in downtown Chicago and on the Near West Side.

No arrests have been announced, but cops said they found an AK-47 in the car after the group bailed out. A handgun and a couple of phones were also found.

  1. The cops probably figure, why bother? since the fat effing governor and the crooked DA won't do anything and there is a no cash bail policy and the thugs will be back on the street within an hour anyway. Not to mention, the competent police have been driven off due to the policies they have to work under.

  2. In a few cases, the police were told not to pursue the thieves even though they had them in their sites.

  6. I thought chicago put in a law that the police cannot chase criminals. Maybe the state police can.

    2. Anon, others, you are correct .. there are limits surrounding "hot pursuit". Also, there's a written policy that no IL peace officer, at any level, will be reprimanded for NOT chasing down a thug. Kinda sets up the incentive to simply report the outcome after all the mayhem has come to an end.

  8. Wasn't it IL that just declared that lack of U.S. citizenship would NOT be a barrier to employment as a LEO?
