Looking back, a hammer probably wasn't the best choice for a weapon
LIVERMORE, Calif. -- A man who reportedly tried to rob a Livermore gun store while armed with a hammer was shot and killed by the shop's owner Sunday afternoon.
It was a fully semiauto planishing hammer, there is no excuse for one of those to be in the hands of a non professional sheet metal worker. Did you know ANYONE CAN WALK INTO HARBOR FREIGHT AND PLUNK DOWN $18 AND GET ONE WITHOUT A BACKGROUND CHECK! Our chilren aren't safe with just anyone having them in their tool box. It's scary knowing anyone you meet could have one of those stuffed down a pant leg.
Maybe it was a full-auto, extended magazine BP-15 (Ball Peen).
