I used to rock out to this band while living the sex drugs and rock and roll mantra of the 1970’s. I have nearly all of their albums but hadn’t listened to them in years. I put them on the turntable so I could hear the old familiar scratch and hiss of the stylus. Thank you Wire Cutter.
As a bass player myself I personally rank Gary Thain as one of the top 5 ever. Played with all his fingers. Very melodic bass. Never cared much for Byron's vocals unless he was toning it down. Falseto sucks in anything IMHO. There was something about 1972. A sh1tload of fine albums came out that year, from a lot of good bands.
