A Santa Ana man could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted on allegations he allowed his elderly mother to fester in “hoarder-like conditions,” according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Richard Towers, 50, faces felony charges of murder and inflicting injury on an elder adult, as well as an enhancement for causing great bodily injury on an elder adult, the OCDA said in a news release.
I bet he was collecting her SS payout. Which proves mothers will make great sacrifices and go to great lengths to see their offspring living a happy comfortable life.

Aesop's right, unfortunately. There are some good ones, but a lot of 'rest homes' sedate their denizens into zombies and do as little as possible for them. After seeing a few examples, I took care of my parents instead.
