Naw. The hawk has him. He'll keep tightening his grip until he hits blood. I've had two run ins with that same hawk. Chicken wire between the trees, knocks them right down, stunned. They apparently can't see it.
You’re not wrong - we live 10 miles from the “Bird of Prey” area in Idaho. The amount of falcons, hawks and other predatory birds is shocking, and we have chickens.
What I WILL say is, that rooster is gonna start raking those wings, to where the bird can’t fly off. And he’ll also start hacking away at the (looks like a falcon) legs. Both birds are dead; they’re just trying to see which one goes first.
Chicken ain't going to do anything to that Cooper's Hawk, they either break apart or the chicken is done. That hawk has 3 in tallons & looks like there buried deep. Either way I'd like to see the outcome.
Say "Winner - Winner Chicken Dinner one more time ..."
