Ted is still pretty cool. Stranglehold was always my favorite.
ReplyDeleteA taste of Journey would have been nice (the tune, not the band). Or a few of his other earlier tidbits.
ReplyDeleteI met him when I was stationed at Ft Campbell, either ‘95 or ‘96. He was doing a show in Nashville and came up to just hang out with some soldiers. We were out training for EIB and he just sort of showed up and started talking to us. It was like having a cool uncle hang out and talk about guns and music. One of my buddies said to him, “Hey, Mr Nougat, I love what you did for Milky Way candy bars,” so Ted grabbed him and put him in a headlock and gave him noogies. Kind of surreal to have one of your childhood idols show up and be so relatable.
