  1. I got called out of retirement to salvage a $2mil. nightmare back in June and have been crabby for months. This album made me smile for the first time in awhile. Thank You.

  2. A couple of old songs from them came across my music stream and I remarked how good they were... I now have a channel of their stuff, and I'll be damned if they didn't make some really good music I never heard before!

  3. My neighbors don't appreciate it so much.

  4. The title song is the best on the album, and it has a lot of competition.

  5. Their first 2 albums were released in Europe months before they were released in the USA. The BBC played an album at midnight their time which was 6pm my time. Dad a very good Ham radio and I would record the transmission. If it was good I would copy it to cassette. I was rocking to the first two albums before they were released here. It freaked out my friends when it was released.

    1. I never did like Dire Straits because all I'd ever heard before was their comercial shit like Sultans of Swing, then one day back in the early 90s I walked into a friend's house and he had this album on. I could not believe it was Dire Straits. When I left his place I headed straight over to the music shop and bought the tape (or CD, I don't remember).

    2. I wish I had appreciated Dire Straits back in the early days as much as I do now.

Don't count out Sultans of Swing or Money For Nothing. They're both amazing songs if you listen to them critically. They were popular for a good reason.

I think their brilliance was way overlooked in the day.

    3. I wasn't really into their style of music when they first got airplay here in the States and I still don't really care for those two songs.
All of their songs that I really really like, I've never heard on the radio.
