    1. Is a manual transmission another name for a clutch?

    2. I think it's one of those he/she thingies that either tuck or not.

  2. Now soak it in motor oil and add 10,000 rpms and you get an atv or motorcycle system. Virtually eliminates the wear from the uphill start. And performance to boot. 😁

  3. With the exception of starting off in 1st (and this is debatable) or reverse, there is no need to engage the clutch.

    1. My 09 Dodge 3500 with a 6 speed would beg to differ. I've driven semis so I know how to shift without clutching, but that 6 speed just doesn't work that way though I sure wish it would.

  4. I figured out how a clutch worked by taking the transmission out of the truck I had when I was a teenager and replacing the clutch it myself. No YouTube. No Dad. No help. Shitty tools. Got it done anyway. The story of my life. Learn on the fly.

    2. Great advise for young folk. However when working on the Whoa system. Please seek advise and proper replacement parts . Other wise you could end up rearranging five walls ,a conference table and damaging their new VCR in a life insurance building. Would not recommend...

  7. Working a clutch is like finding the G-Spot, you either get it or don't.

  8. My first was in a T-10 behind a 390. I had friends with experience so it went pretty smoothly. I’ve only had two cars in my life with automatic transmissions. I’m not sure what I have now with the hybrid, I think it only has forward and reverse. There’s no shifting as far as I can tell. That’s a hell of a thing to say when you think about it. Eod1sg Ret

  9. How to keep your Volkswagen alive: or Poor Richard's Rabbit book, being a manual of step by step procedures for the complet idiot

With that book I went from not knowing how to check the oil to an engine rebuild when a valve stem broke and the valve dropped into the cylinder
