  2. #4. Rented a van in Las Vegas for a trip to California. When we got there they said to just pick a vehicle. When we got to the gate and they checked our contract, they went oops, you need a certain vehicle, not this one if going to California. Unfortunately they had that type of restricter in the driveway and I was straddling it. They weren't supposed to let me pull forward and backing would shred the front tires plus only one attendant. Also, the entrance was at the other end.
    That was my first encounter with those things.

    1. My first was at college when I had to go to registration You had to get a permit to get out of the lot. Stupid.

  4. #1 I used to help my Dad install those types of lifts in service centers and auto repair shops all over the Southeast. Looks to me like the vehicle was lifted above what would be the recommended height and the posts spread apart. It also could be that improper anchor bolts were used and the one post pulled out of the slab.

    1. To me, that looks like someone didn't quite "stick the landing". There's a boat ramp or a road off to the right we can't see that led to this result. Something like, "Looks like them Duke boys done found a whole mess o' trouble." Or maybe a "hot water" or a "deep water" pun.
