OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Three children were left to live alone in a Pontiac home for years after allegedly being abandoned by their mother, and during that time, only one child ever stepped outside.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Feb. 18, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said detectives believe that the three kids, a 15-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old girl, were abandoned by their 34-year-old mother sometime in 2020.
She boogied, but I bet mom and kids friended each other on Facebook.
ReplyDelete"After their 34-year-old mother was arrested, the three children were put into the custody of a relative by Child Protective Services."
ReplyDeleteI want to know who this 'relative' is, and where's she been for four years.
If "mom" was really off the reservation or addicted, I can see relatives having cut her off. Maybe before they knew about any kids being in the picture.
DeleteI think they mean mom was arrested after the February welfare check.
DeleteThat's exactly what I was thinking! Who the hell trusts anyone in this effed up family? How distant is this relative? A second cousin? You certainly can't trust the grandparents or any siblings of "Cruella Of The Lambs" mom.
ReplyDeleteOakland County. Right outside of Detroit.
ReplyDeleteGot to ask, are the kids retarded?
ReplyDeleteNot to be mean, but I wondered the same thing. I have a 14-year-old and a 12-year-old. If they were left alone in the house but otherwise had food and supplies delivered, even for years, they would absolutely not be living in their own filth with their fingernails grown out to be inches long. I can kind of give these kids a pass on staying inside since it apparently started during the lockdowns, and apparently nobody told them when it was over, but all the rest is just mystifying.
DeleteI'd say they were pretty damn smart, resourceful, and industrious to have hung on that long by themselves. They obviously didn't want to be separated by CPS and farmed out to foster homes. Bet they are a pretty close knit group.
Delete100%. 15 years old doesn't clean up or do hygiene? Has to be some issues there.
DeleteDamn that patriarchy...
ReplyDeleteNo id or pic of the mother, meaning it’s Laquondarata again.
ReplyDeleteNo mention of a FATHER.
ReplyDeleteShe probably was one of those "my kids are my paycheck and the court will protect me" exes.
The story links to a followup story that indicates the father was in prison.

ReplyDeleteMy previous question still stands. Are the kids retarded? How is it teenagers would continue to live like that and not leave the house?
Wow.
DeleteClearly, it didn't get that way all at once. I do think the kids had to have been at least a little low IQ, but clearly they were also never taught how to care for themselves, and if they didn't leave home much before their mom left what basis for comparison would they have?
On another note, this just begs so many more questions. How is it possible that nobody complained about the smell? No neighbors, no Instacart delivery people, the landlord, nobody ever noticed the horrific miasma that had to have been lingering around that place for years? Was this on the ground floor?
Lord, have mercy. Whoever is in charge of those kids now has their work cut out for them.
"The father tried to reconnect with the kids after he got out of prison, but the mother wouldn't let him."
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like in this case the kids really are feral and that is a shame.
ReplyDeleteNothing in this story makes sense.... This must be the most mind your own business neighbor in the world

Is this a guess the race post? I'm going with high melanin Amish.
ReplyDelete50-50 chance that she continued to claim the kids on her income tax all these years - and got some big jackpot refunds.
ReplyDeleteIncome tax? lol - bitch on welfare for sure. And the kids are evidently low IQ Amish too.
DeleteLow IQ kids? Or maybe they've never set foot in the public school system, so there's not many records out there of them even existing? That might explain why CPS didn't go looking for them post Covid.
ReplyDeleteHad a friend in college who interned at rural elementary schools. It's unthinkable to most Americans, but she said many "low income" parents simply ignored their kids. As an example, she saw neglected first-graders who couldn't name colors. Forget the alphabet or numbers, these 6-year-olds didn't know the word for "red" or "blue". The parents never spoke to them or taught them anything.
