As Elon Musk and his tech team urge their fellow Americans to become “domestic auditors” to help rein in federal spending, people have been encouraged to use the Treasury Department’s usaspending.gov website to identify and track government finance.
But usaspending.gov is wrong on the biggest picture, RealClearInvestigations found.
Yup, the current federal fiscal situation is like a moon sized gordian knot encased in bureaucratic concrete and the Dynamic Duo of Trump & Musk's efforts are as effective as trying to cut it with a boy Scout penknife.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a description worthy of praise. Bravo!
DeleteNothing is impervious if you're prepared to rip things out at the root.
ReplyDeleteGeorge W Bush's last act was to create a 1 Trillion dollar 'shovel ready' stimulus package. There has not been a budget bill(s) since. Every year there has been a continuing resolution to just spend what we spent last year, plus 7 percent. In the following 16 years that 1 Trillion has more than doubled (via the 7-11 rule of interest accumulation) and no one knows where it was supposed to go or where it did!
ReplyDeleteThat $25 to $30 TRILLION dollar slush fund has driven all the antics of Clown World/Deep State. Interesting thought is; who's in charge of spending that slush fund if they find another C.R. while Trump is in charge?
Was the $1T shovel ready Bush or Obama? From memory, the Democrats tried passing it and Bush vetoed it. As soon as he was in office, Obama signed it. Since the FY2009 budget was supposedly passed in October 2008, Bush got the blame for it -- even though it was Obama that signed it.
DeleteThe Democrats then labeled the FY2009 budget (signed Obama) as Bush's ... so that when the looked at how much the budget ballooned under Bush versus Obama, Bush looked significantly worse.
Nothing changes until people go to jail. I'm sick of Mike Johnsons shit eating grin like everything is great.
ReplyDelete"Experts say.." I know they are telling untruths! Its probably closer to $15 T
ReplyDeleteWe shouldn't be interested in reform. We should be pushing for elimination.
ReplyDeleteFor perspective: One trillion seconds ago would place humanity in the approximate year of 32,000 B.C. We are $40 Trillion in debt. What exactly does money and debt mean in those terms?
