When i was in junior high school, I was walking home from school in the rain, when a car driven by a high school kid, with his friends in the car, purposefully swerved to the puddle beside me and drenched me. I ran after the car, and about a half mile away, I saw it parked in the driveway of a house. There was a garden hose adjacent to the house and hooked up to the spigot. The car was unlocked, so I opened the door, rolled down the window just a bit, and put the hose in, turned on the water and walked away. I never found out the ultimate upshot, but I'll bet that the driver never did that again.
#3 reminds me of what it was like walking from then Parking Lot 3 to the main campus at U of MD on a rainy day. Half-a-mile of lousy drainage and traffic that did not slow down. I learned to carry 2 umbrellas. one for the rain, one for the tire splash. Looked like an ancient Roman Testudo (appropriate since the Testudo was the University Mascot).

DeleteMy blood line was there competing, the US made a Stamp of their picture, I do believe my mom still has the stamp.
ReplyDeletePeople who speed thru puddles to spray others are assholes.
