DOGE Isn't Exempt From FOIA Requests, Judge Rules

Citing the agency's "unusual secrecy" and "substantial authority over vast swathes of the federal government," a federal judge ruled Monday that Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is likely subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and must respond to public records requests from a watchdog group.

  1. Have they looked at doge.gov?

Of course, the usual response of the government to FOIA requests is to stonewall and redact anything useful. I, for one, would like to see full transparency.

  2. I fully support this. I want all activities of the fedgov to be completely transparent.

  4. I hope that DOGE is as equally responsive and timely as all other government entities are when it comes to FOIA requests ... in other words ... keep up the good work DOGE and reply whenever.

  5. Come back in 4 years for your documents that are 90% redacted. That is the Deep State way, isn't it Judge?

  6. They should be as honest as the FBI with Epstein files. That is the standard, apparently.

  7. I think this is a no-brainer. No large government org should be immune to FOIA, no matter if it's under the "Executive Office of the President". There are certain functions of the President and his staff which must be exempt to maintain separation of powers, no doubt.

  8. Not saying that DOGE is exempt from FOIA requests, but it doesn't have "substantial authority over vast swathes of the federal government". As I understand, DOGE really doesn't have "authority" over anything. They audit and make recommendations.

But how else would a Liberal, Obama appointed rule?

I'm really getting tired of this Leftist crap.

  9. Frank, if this ruling is a typical Activist Deep State Judge at work, then it will get reversed in the appeals process and yet another dumb lefty gets added to the To-Be-Impeached-After-Mid-Terms list.

When I read the story, I wondered what documents *could* be requested from DOGE? It's a bit like asking what a mirror looks like. "Certainly sir! Here's a copy of the audit which exposed $100M of waste at the Dept Of Whatever. As you can see, our math is correct."

    - Red Alert!
