IRS drafting plans to cut as much as half of its 90,000-person workforce, sources say
WASHINGTON -- The IRS is drafting plans to cut its workforce by as much as half through a mix of layoffs, attrition and incentivized buyouts, according to two people familiar with the situation.
Doesn't matter. I could write some code to track every tax payer in the US. I could automate it to send a nastygram to anyone who doesn't line up with my reported employer numbers. Further, it could have flags for anyone that made too much or little and plenty of other abnormalities. Just for shits and giggles, I could have it flag and audit 5% of any demographic. I'm not that great at coding, either. This is just how stupid the govt is by keeping all of these people around.
45,000 to be fired? I wonder what they're going to do with the 35,000 AR-15s and a couple million rounds of .223 ammo the government bought to arm all the Biden IRS hires with?
chances are they give them away to some group that hates us. like say the FBI or some other 3 letter group of assholes. maybe they sell/give them to demorat shithole cities for their "police dept." or they may go into the "chopper" and then get melted down. whatever happens to it, you know they going to lose (our) money doing it
Yes, people are too lazy. Otherwise they'd submit handwritten returns - you can still use TurboTax and transcribe - and be a little sloppy so the IRS has to work for it.
That's great, until one of your quarterly payments gets deposited to your wife's social security number instead of yours, and they start sending 'untouched by human hands' deficiency notices to you. Then you spend hours navigating the phone tree and sitting on hold, hoping to talk to an actual human being who can get it solved.
We had a woman working at the IRS here that was terrific. I had no qualms about sending someone over there if they had a question or simple problem. Then she retired. I believe her replacement was moved here because it was easier than firing her. For a while I'd hear amazing stories about how petty and worthless she was. No more. People just stopped asking for help. We'd lose nothing if she was gone.
Imagine how difficult it's going to be for all these lazy assed .gov workers to find jobs once they're on the street having to compete in the real workplace for jobs where these people are already labeled as no account do nothings.
I'd also like to know the ethnic breakdown of the ones who get fired. That should be an interesting tidbit.
On another note, my next door neighbor works for a local branch of one the vast fed.gov agencies. She finally, just yesterday. returned to her office after 6.5 weeks of defiance of Trump's EO. I hope she gets fired, but she probably won't.
With how far computers have come we should be able to do more with less of them. That being said either give me a national sales tax and let's abolish the IRS

DeleteThey're stored in Conex containers, waiting to be passed out to Obiden's alien army.
DeleteAnyone remember Biden wanting to hire another 80,000?
ReplyDeleteIs to be 86000 over the course of ten years. Or so I read it at the time.
DeleteStop the income tax and get rid of the rest of them.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter much. 90% of all tax returns are filed automatically with no human looking at them.

I wish they would send me an itemed tax bill. They know more than me. Either I can sign it and agree with it or I can submit my own.

As long as you make those that owe back taxes pay up before they leave.
