  1. #2 Offered some protection to the wearer. The cocktail of herbs and vinegar would probably offer insignificant protection, but the heavy leather coat, gloves, rod, etc. kept the wearer from coming into direct contact with the infected, being coughed on, etc.

#17 Hits home. Harness your hatred and make it useful.

    1. "The cocktail of herbs and vinegar would probably offer insignificant protection" because nobody thought to turn stone fruit pits into charcoal and crush 'em up to make gas mask filters, right? I'm that germ theory just coming into consciousness was a bigger factor in the success/failure of the "bird suit" than anything else.

  3. #15 - I once knew a guy who caught a hog that had somehow fallen off a train. He took it and got it slaughtered and put it in the freezer. Then one day the Railroad Agents showed up looking for their pig. Legal trouble ensued. My theory has always been that somebody dropped a dime.

  7. #9. I remember some disable people who had a child in my home town. The daughter was cute as a button and not disabled at all. Wonder what happened.

    1. Genes exist that skip generations. Also, there are genes that need to be double recessive to get the symptoms, so you can be a carrier without getting the disease.

    1. Haven't been to a dr. for twelve or more years. At 72 7/8, I'm healthier now than I was then. Helps a lot to do your own research.

    2. Starker here,
Uncle Zip, my 72yo Uncle was in good health, he walked 3 miles a day. He went to step up onto his front porch, his femur snapped! Not hip, center of the long section. Bone Cancer! It has spread by this point. He seemed the get better. Handled the chemo. After 3 months, his health started failing. He lasted another month. Get checked every 2 years.

  15. Laughed 'aloud at #15, reminds me I should pick up a few ears for the local furry tailed rats.

Dad spent a year in Hospice, loved watching the squirrels. I set a feed-post outside his window and kept it stocked when I visited. Mom still feeds them at home.
I'd watch a field trail camera of that spill.
