President Donald Trump is attempting to exert something not entirely unlike full control over Federal Election Commission (FEC) decision-making, a lawsuit filed Friday in Washington, D.C., federal court alleges.

Maybe they shouldn't exist at all, since it appears all they do is dysregulate whatever their claimed area of responsibility is. Once again, it needs to be reiterated: everything government touches turns to shit. With that maxim foremost in our minds, we should seek to have the least amount of government possible, so that we can have the least amount of our day today business and existence turned to shit.

ReplyDeleteThe constitution calls for 3 independent branches. If it is not controlled by congress or the courts, it must be controlled by the president. We tried having an "independent" FBI for decades. I wonder how many people Hoover blackmailed.
ReplyDeletethat's all well and good but no one seems to want to tell me what happens when the next guy gets in office, and he ain't on our side.
ReplyDeleteall this stuff trump is doing will be turned against us, and it will be lean and mean and not the current chaos and competition that exists between government agencies that make them cumbersome and ineffective.
we're making a weapon, and handing it to whomever sits in the oval office until the end of time, and hoping they don't jam it up our ass.
The Demonrats are operating under the theory that the president has no authority over the executive branch agencies and that bureaucrats cannot be held accountable.
