New York City has a mayoral election later this year, and the two leading candidates right now are former governor Andrew Cuomo and a state assemblyman named Zohran Mamdani. The latter has gained traction in the polls by promising to build city-run grocery stores that “will operate without profit motive” in order to combat “the outrageous price of groceries.” Leave it to the residents of Gotham to pin their hopes on either the guy who turned nursing homes into COVID death traps or a proud communist who is blithely unaware of the Soviet Union’s history with breadlines.

They talk bad about the democrat candidates but never mention the other candidates. It is one big political ad for the democrats. The story gives name recognition for people at the polls. Voters dont remember if it was good or bad but did see those names in the media.

DeleteYou don't hate the media enough.
Apparently, Zohran Mamdani isn't aware of the fact that grocery stores operate on profit margins of 2%, give or take. But since he's a Democrat, I'm sure he's unaware of a lot of things.
ReplyDeleteSupermarkets operate on a 1% - 3% margin, so good luck with that. After they start losing money, they'll try 'subsidizing' the markets.
ReplyDeleteSo one choice is a murdering scum egomaniac ex-governer and the other is a retarded communist.....
ReplyDeleteThe best choice is neither of these worthless POS

I give 2 days after the stores open before the first one suffers employee theft, theft by the locals will happen during the opening day.

I suspect Zohran is looking ahead for the next presidential election as the democrat candidate.
ReplyDeletePromise free ice cream. Promise two chickens in every pot. Promise anything to get elected. The voters vote for their own demise if it sounds good. Make it sound good, get elected.
ReplyDeleteHow can they trade something they never had for something they already posses?
ReplyDeleteI thought grusome newsom was trying state owned grocery stores once he set the steal price at $900. Just dump the shoplifting costs onto the taxpayer. But maybe someone mentioned the store would be cleaned out in 20 minutes and you are back to where you started. Or it could be he is just brain dead.
ReplyDeleteIf Mamdani's plan is put in place, I wonder how long before there are ads for hiring waist- and tail-gunners on bread trucks.
