#4 I can't tell if that's brilliant or stupid. Though I can tell you one thing for damned sure - I wouldn't have the courage to do it. Or is that stupidity? Either way, I ain't trying that!
Ripping it entirely off and destroying the hinges such that they need to be unfucked before you can install the junkyard hood? Bending the frame elsewhere? Having it pop off and damage the back of the functional vehicle? Tearing the hood in jagged pieces which then go flying in the worst possible directions - like directly into the cameraman?
When you're applying a lot of force quickly, there's always the chance that things will go very badly wrong very quickly.
John G. (And I forgot to add that to my previous comment. Whatever.)
5: And here I am happy I can bend over and put my palms on the floor. The balance flexibility, and core strength here is insane. 6: She's not exactly ugly, but she's nowhere near pretty enough to be that stupid. 9: Yep, four months from now this will be my reality.
#4 - you can straighten frames in yer own backyard too. If you don't have a Car-O-Liner, just chain it up to big ole tree for your very own Oak-A-Liner!

#4 didn’t turn out like I expected…
ReplyDeleteLooked like a dog that didn't want to take a walk.

Actually, it did. Hood was bowed up and couldn't be closed. Strategically attached straps pulled it straight.
DeleteAny idea where to get those shears in #8?
ReplyDeleteAt the anti pedophile store...
DeleteSearch for "power pruners" or "cordless pruners"

ReplyDelete#8 Primarily used on pedophiles...
ReplyDeleteI did a variant of #4 involving a big ole oak tree and a little toyota with a bend front crosspiece.
ReplyDeleteWorked a treat!
Nice. Much more sensible that what this dude did. Fewer moving parts, less to go wrong, and no risk at all to a working vehicle. I approve.

#1 looks like an everyday scene from New Jersey's "beloved" Action Park !

ReplyDelete#3 I have a huge smile. That is fantastic, wonderful.
#5 Very impressive. A lot of strength is necessary besides the balance and flexibility.
#7 BTDT. Looks dramatic. Looks worse than it it. That is, until things start breaking loose.
#8 I used a tool like that in dad's orchard.. Very satisfying. Makes clean, fast work.
Thanks, Kenny.
And Happy Birthday.
#7. Been there and done that for 52 years . Happily landlocked in Tennessee now and not the slightest desire to ever go more than waist deep again.
ReplyDeleteNo way would I try anything like that. I live on Lake Michigan and have never been out on the lake in anything other than a tour boat.
