yeah. I took my kids fishing after the divorce with 5 dollar rod/reel plastic setups. used canned corn as bait. on post in the stocked ponds at the golf course. MPs walking around. Max got a bite, damn plastic rod bent in half almost. and what did he do? yup. he ran up the bank with it. had a really fat small mouth bass on the hook. and the MPs where watching. all I could think of was how good it would be to pan fry it anyway, guy came over with a tape/weight thing and we got a picture of it before tossing it back in. nice size fish too, like 13-14 inches and a couple of pounds. the MPs smiled. Max still has the picture on his wall. 36 years later. dave in pa.
My first time fishing was with my Grandpa Bert. He took my big brother and I fishing when I was probably 7 years old. I remember it like it was yesterday. Pretty amazing. Grandpa Bert would be tickled that I remember him and that day almost 70 years later.
Time spent in the squirrel woods and on the creek banks with my Paw Paw were some of the best times of my 66+ years. I wasn’t that young though. I was there for my grandson’s first fish as well as my now adopted daughter’s. God given gifts we were meant to pass on. Blessings without question. ET in Dixie

That cast! That retrieve! good grief that little guy is well on his way to a lifelong passion, or just having some occasional fun !
