Why, you poor thing!

A man who claims he was beaten up after trying to steal a car at a Winnipeg grocery store is now suing staff, alleging he was left with skull fractures and now suffers from permanent hearing and vision impairment.

*****

I don't know how to tell you this, Mikey, but this is a classic example of Fuck Around and Find Out.

  2. Prince says that the amount of force used against him was far in excess of what was necessary to execute a citizen’s arrest or detain him pending the arrival of law enforcement personnel,” according to the lawsuit.

Citizens aren't trained to modulate their punches to be just what is necessary to accomplish the goal. IOW, ToughFukkinSchitt asshole.

    1. The point wasn't to execute a "citizen's a-RAYest" or detain the perp pending the arrival of law enforcement, but to "reinforce the learning experience."

  6. This bullscat of suing victims who beat up or kill attackers needs to stop, pronto. And the victims need to get paid a bounty, like Robert Heinlein proposed. Something around $5,000 a head for dead or alive, for pain and suffering.

  7. This is in Canada. If he had been over 65, the doctors would have recommended medically assisted death to treat his injuries.

  8. The lawyer taking his case ought to be given the same treatment, for the same reason. Theft is theft, whether it is done at the point of a gun or wearing a suit and tie, it should be violently confronted.

  9. The store is owned by Rajan Varma who is from India. As an immigrant he'll be treated with kid gloves. In Canada lawsuits don't pay off in the millions as they do in the USA.

  11. The store owners can now advertise that crime will be dealt with at their store. Also some Employees of the month awards are in order.

  12. Sadly, that's the way the law works in Canada.

  14. He is crying that they used to much force, but he got away from them... Sounds like they needed to use more force.

  15. It's Winnipeg FFS. That dude is lucky he didn't simply disappear. I'm not afraid to walk in the rough areas of Saskatoon or Prince Albert, but I wouldn't dare drive through any area of Winnipeg.
People from Chicago and Detroit would shit themselves there.

  16. Kinda sounds like the poor unfortunate soul that happened to mug an old lady in front of a US Marine Corps recruiting office a few years ago...

    Fuck Around, and Find Out...indeed
