I bet God gave her a prize with MUCH more integrity than any Nobel.

  4. Dr Jim,

The Nobel committee lost me when it gave the Peace award to Yassir Arafat. One of the central tenants of the PLO was the destruction of the modern state of Israel. Not sure how that goal jives with being peaceable.

  5. I agree, Brad.

When they give out science awards, I think they have some credibility, but the "humanitarian" awards? Just a popularity contest like American Idol.....

  6. Amazing woman. Thank you, wc, for the story. This is the kind of history our kids should know. I asked a couple of the teens I know if they knew her, no. Do you know who Sandra Fluke is? Oh yeah, she's a women's rights activist!!!
    I wept.

  8. Dr. Jim,

Don't forget that Barack Obama got a peace price only a few days after his first inauguration. The Nobel process includes closing the nominations SIX MONTHS before the awards are given out. You do the math.
