Sabotage suspected in ‘unprecedented’ damage to Russia’s 2 Nord Stream gas pipelines to Germany

Unprecedented damage to Russia’s Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines in the Baltic Sea may be the work of sabotage, German officials believe.

National daily Tagesspiegel reported on Tuesday that government sources suspect leaks that turned ships away from the affected areas could have been inflicted deliberately, though it would take days if not weeks for deep sea divers to verify.

  1. Sounds like the Germans have perpetrated a False Flag to incite a war...

    1. I'm more inclined to believe the US government is behind it. See the comment below this one from Alex Lund.

    3. Who says the Russians didn't "sabotage" the pipeline themselves to have an even better reason than "maintenance" to cut Germany's gas off?
Sure, they'll lose some revenue, but to paraphrase the Freak Brothers, "Gas will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no gas."

    4. Ran into a friend today and asked him who he thought was behind the sabotage, He immediately said the Germans. I think the presence of the Kearsage was a situation they could not pass up.

    5. The Russians wouldn't sabotage their own pipeline. They need to be able to turn the gas back on after Germany reverses course on Ukraine, not to mention the cost to repair. With the pipeline out of commission, there is no benefit to Germany for changing the EU position on Ukraine.

  2. On another page I found the information that the USS Kearsage was closeby.
And Joe Biden said clearly, that if Russia marches into Ukraine, then Nordstream is dead.
So, if thats not a clue...

    1. Don’t know how up to date this is, but you could imagine a few days ago some SEALs put on their wet suits and planted some delayed action devices on or near the underwater pipelines. Or an underwater drone could have been used, not sure how deep the pipes are under the surface.

  4. Biden remarked back in February that they could shut it down of they wanted to
so sabotage by one or more of the US alphabet agencies is a possibility.

  6. If Europe comes to the conclusion the US even facilitated this, we might see the global decoupling from the dollar movement gain traction.
This Friday, Russia will likely accept the four Eastern Ukrainian they occupy back into Russia.
When that is completed, the Special Military Operation becomes Defending Russian Territory, which under international law they have every right to do.
We are ruled by idiot psychopaths with no understanding of what they do. May God have mercy on all of us.

  7. Why not the Chinese? Do they not have any motive here?

  8. The USS Jimmy Carter was specifically reconfigured for this kind of mission. Does anyone else in the world have such a capability?

  9. It is easy to figure who did that, one of these two : Trump or Orange Man Bad.

  10. China.... doubtful and dangerous. When your enemy is making a mistake, don't stop him kinda thing. Be tough for them to get into and out of the Baltic unnoticed. Seriously bad juju if they were caught.

Russia.... doubtful and don't make sense. They control the flow, it is a big bargaining chip for them. Not to even mention the cash flow.

Germany.... maybe, but do they have the ability?

    Ukraine.... bwahahahaha

USofA.... neck deep in Ukraine corruption; russia russia russia; with pipeline gone, not just turned off, the eu is dependent on us for gas; even if caught... what downside? biden's handlers could use a good war right now to distract us

  11. Who benefits?

Now there is no point in negotiations to get Russia to turn the gas back on. Let's see, who sabotaged the last peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. Oh, the US and the EU. They want to fight this down to the last Ukrainian.

Who wants to "reset" Europe's energy system to make it green. The WEF. Who thinks there are too many people in the world, and so would not shed any tears if millions of Europeans froze and starved? The WEF.

    Such a mystery.

    4. Okay, that makes sense. The US was my first thought when I heard about it.
I had a really bad headache last night when I moderated the comments and I get a fair amount of comments blaming Jews for everything from worldwide inflation to spilt milk.
      My apologies to the commenter.

  15. Very likely it was done to remove the possiblity of pressure coming to bare on the German govt to negotiate with Russia as the winter chill hits. Basically it's been done to remove a risk to cohesion within NATO.
Narrows the field of suspects greatly.

  16. I hate to say it, but my money is on USA. The current regime is fomenting evil in the world and we are all going to pay a price. What makes me nervous is the lack of comment from Putin. He's not bluffing.

  17. Not the US of A. By which I mean "We the People..."
But a bunch of very rich people who will be even richer if Europe cannot get cheap gas.
Never mind, it gives me an excuse to repeat a nice Michael Caine line, possibly used by Soros.
" You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off. "

  18. Who did it?
Seems to be the 64 thousand dollar question.

Since Blofeld is a fictional character (I think) and this was not a amateur hour feat, then who done it? I'd dismiss any European government. Likewise Russia. So I'd say it's down to the USA, China or Ukraine.
Ukraine would be risking a lot to stab it's Western lifeline in the back like this.

But there has been one important factor that hasn't been brought up that I've heard. That stretch of water has been one of the most watched and listened to navigational channels in the world; surface and especially subsurface. The SOSUS barrier is still in operation I believe. And as long as Russia has nuclear subs and missile-boats it will continue to listen. Someone working underwater approached, did the deed and escaped. Probably all underwater.
So I believe that someone does know who did this.
Unfortunately it makes it more likely that the culprit is the United States.

What I'd give to get Milley in a room for a few hours and sweat the truth out of him.

ps BTW the WEF doesn't have a Navy.
