The World Health Organization Wants to Restrict Access to Adult Beverages and I May Become Violent

Yeah...No

We are learning things about ourselves during our coronapocalypse shutdown aren’t we, dear readers? Forced to stay inside and find ways to occupy ourselves, most of us have found ways to cope and sometimes even flourish.

Many of us are finding new hobbies. For example, five-time NFL pro bowl star J.J. Watt has developed an affinity for doing the dishes. I’ve never really disliked doing the dishes but maybe I can begin to see the nightly routine through Watt’s eyes and find some joy in the process.

Hey, this is a time for dreaming.

When Seconds Count, Cops Are Minutes Away*Free War Story Enclosed

My friend Dave, a fellow copper, used to say that and laugh like a hyena. Because it's true.

This morning I was reading about the Navy Seal sniper who was shot and killed at a gun range and I was reminded of how easy it is to kill anybody. That guy by all accounts, was a serious bad ass and clearly capable of defending himself- yet he lost his life. Stateside.

I always have guns around me. This is not because I am some whack job looking to kill someone- this is because I was a cop for a long time and I know how many whack jobs are out there- self medicated and pissed off at the world.

I make no apologies for being armed. I won't waste time dialing 911.  I will use what precious seconds I have taking action- not praying like some statist that a cop car is across the street. Or worse yet, that the cop that does arrive will actually intervene right away rather than wait for help to arrive. Cops are trained to wait for help.

They teach us that. So retired old cops know that when seconds count- young cops are still minutes away. That's why we have guns.

So I thought I would tell you about an incident that happened to me. I have never told anyone this story except for a few close friends. It was not my finest moment but it could have been a lot worse. I like to think of it as a learning experience. I was about 25 when this happened. I was in my fourth year of law enforcement.

A little righteous justice down in South Africa

Fuck, WiscoDave passed this along and almost caused me to piss down my pants leg.

Pietermaritzburg, South Africa – Talk about role-reversal. A regular joe pulled over a police officer for driving while intoxicated, throwing him into the back of his own van and driving it to the police station.
Russell George, from Prestbury, said that he was driving on Sunday when he saw a police van driving “recklessly” into oncoming traffic.
“He was driving towards oncoming traffic as he turned into Victoria Road,” George told News24. “At this point I was concerned about the safety of other road users.”
George confronted the drunken police officer, who then sped off and continued to drive recklessly.
“He suddenly jammed on his brakes and came to a complete stop,” George recalled “I got out of my car and went towards him and I asked him if he knew what he was doing. He started his car and carried on driving.”
George called emergency services, and was told that police would arrive shortly. After some time had passed, George decided to take matters into his own hands

I read the story hoping to find that it was our buddy Karl the jackal hunter that done the deed.
