Bomb dogs (or lack of) at the Boston Marathon

Hey Ken,
 
It's been a couple weeks now since I bought up the issue of the lack of bomb dogs at the Boston Marathon and it's not that I'm obsessed with it but, ever since then I've been viewing every picture of the Marathon Start and Finish line I can get my hands on, yet and I'll be damned if I can find ANY definitive photos showing a dog anywhere at the Marathon. There are tons of photos now showing dogs post event as people exit Boston (day late and a dollar short) but, nadda of bomb dogs at the event. The University Mobile Cross Country Coach, Ali Stevenson participated in the Marathon and gave an interview statement saying something to the effect that he saw "bomb dogs" on roofs and at the start/finish line..... he'd never seen so many bomb dogs before. This ***singular*** statement has been almost universally plugged in to the post Marathon analysis dialog but, IMO it doesn't "wash" with the photo evidence out there. How the hell can a cross country track coach identify "bomb dogs" on a roof... from the street below?... he must be one helluva dog expert! There are tons of photos of the start and finish line from media and people in attendance and I've yet to see a single photo with a dog in it. It's like his statement was canned/scripted and purposefully interjected into the dialog.... something doesn't fit here. But then, there's A LOT that still doesn't "fit" the template that's being spoon fed the American public on this incident. I guess I shouldn't be so nosey eh? Hey, WTF do I know???

Their Blood Cries Out From The Ground


To all,
Genesis 4:10-11 states what God said to Cain after he murdered his brother.
10 And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground. 11 So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

As the enclosed article from World Magazine states, Satan is attempting to annihilate the image of God through abortions.  If the blood of Abel can cry out from the ground, can you imagine the frightening tumultuous sound of millions and millions of murdered infants screaming up to God???  Will that be the sound that abortionists and their advocates hear for their eternity?

Department of No Homeland Security

Why?
1.  January, 2013:  Center of Immigration Studies expresses concerns about a division of the Department of Homeland Security called the Student and Exchange Visitor Program.  Some fine upstanding students have abused their student visa such as Quazi Mohammed Nafis, Faisal Shahzad, Mohamed Atta and Marwan Al-Shehhi.  The first two were bombers and, in the case of the last two, learned how to fly planes into a building.

Read the Declaration of Independence


To all,
Read the Declaration of Independence.
Read it.
Carefully.
When you do, you will obtain a glimpse of what our Founding Fathers were going through, the frustrations that drove them to war, and the reasons why they pledged their "lives", their "fortunes" and their "sacred honor".  For what?  A free country where everyone was endowed by God with "unalienable rights" including "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".  
Read it.
You will find the enumerated frustrations that drove them to produce the most glorious country that God has ever allowed to exist and you will find how they felt about the tyrannical British government.  They were so oppressed that their view of the King of Great Britain was:
"A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people."
At what point do the patriots of this country determine that someone who lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue can be defined as such because of what he has advocated and promulgated?  Has he refused "to assent to laws"?  Has he "obstructed the administration of justice"?  May he "render the military independent of and superior to civil power"?  Does he have plans for Americans to "become the executioners of their friends and brethren"?
How did those like George Washington and Samuel Adams respond?  Just like the Israelites as described in the Old Testament.  When the Israelites prayed before going to war, they won.  Always.  Our Founding Fathers appealed to "the Supreme Judge of the world."  They went forward "with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence"and the rest is history.
What would happen if.........the millions of God-fearing patriots came together, prayed for His protection, His wisdom and His strength to "impel them to the separation".  On which side would God be on?  Would the military back the narcissistic tyrant or those who desire freedom?  Would you be willing to battle the government to procure a place where liberty reigned supreme?
That is why the Second Amendment was included.  To battle tyrants with their firearms which, when tyrannical despots attempted to oppress them, became weapons of defense.  Today, firearms in the hands of God-fearing patriots, are defense weapons, not assault weapons irrespective of their appearance.
Read the Declaration of Independence and discover how closely we are to the "destructive" government that caused our Founding Fathers to dispel tyranny and build the finest society known to man.

Seattle is under Federal control

I'm writing to you today to bring light to share with you some curious things I noticed this weekend.  In order to put them into perspective, I must let you know a little about myself.  I was born in Seattle Washington and moved to Missoula Montana in July of 2001.  I still have friends in Seattle and I go there to visit yearly. 

I went last year and observed a lot of peculiar infrastructure put in place, but nothing more noteworthy than the extremely sophisticated camera systems on the state borders.  This year I witnessed significantly more, a deterioration into an Orwellian setting that I never could have imagined.  
Seattle is now informally under Federal Control.  Whether the local police and sheriff's departments know it or not, they are being groomed to relinquish control to the Department of Homeland Security, it would appear that vast amounts of resources are being placed inside the city on standby.  I would have gladly taken more pictures, but given the circumstances, which I will explain later, I was unable to.


Picture 1.  What you see here first, is a homeless man who got drunk and took a dive into the concrete.  What you can't see to the left of the picture by the arrow, are 3 Department of Homeland Security vehicles which I will show later.  That's right, our counter terrorist force is responding to domestic disturbances.  Shown in the red oval, is a DHS operative,  clearly displaying "POLICE" on the back of his type III-A body armor.  A clear difference compared to the domestic officer pictured in the green oval, who is wearing the typical type II armor.  Also, observe his badges and identification obviously present on his left shoulder - clearly absent on the DHS official.


Picture 2.  Shown here are 2 DHS vehicles which are portrayed as standard police vehicles, but upon closer observation are shown to be Federal Agents, and this is where things got uncomfortable.  After taking these photos, the two DHS vehicles began to follow us down the block, circling the block several times that we were walking on and then slowing to a creep while passing us while they stared us down.  The close up photo was taken on their second pass.  This made my girlfriend very intimidated and unhappy, and I began to take less obvious pictures of them since we were on vacation, and this trip was about relaxing, but I was too puzzled by their blatantly  overwhelming presence.  
These vehicles are EVERYWHERE in Seattle, making rounds on any particular block about every 10 minutes, driving in caravans as long as 6 vehicles, but mostly in twos and threes, and always in an aggressive fashion.  Speeding, sudden stops, unnecessary acceleration, and clear traffic violations.  The frequency with which I observed these actions while eating a long lunch in a local restaurant as well as while walking through the streets was startling.  I would say it might be a training exercise if it weren't for their interaction in insignificant events like drunk bums and medical emergencies.

Picture 3.  The third photo shows another obscure medical emergency with 3 DHS vehicles present.  2 vehicles are obvious, the third is behind the white truck.  Once again, our counter terrorist force is responding to heart attacks or whatever else might be happening in this photo, which took one ambulance and one stretcher, Clearly a minor medical emergency.

Are the 1.6 billion rounds starting to make more sense now?  they're grooming and placing assets where they need them first.  Ever heard of the massacre at Hue, south Vietnam? on January 31st of 1968, the N. Vietnamese were able to go inside this city in the early hours of the morning and execute every single South Vietnam sympathizer without error. in one night they were able to pinpoint every household where they lived, pull them out and kill them.  at the time this seamed improbable, how could they organize this? informants, data systems, and useful idiots that thought something like that could never happen. And then it happened.  With the internet, Facebook, and other electronic resources in place, and others being put in place, I think it's pretty clear what is going on, get ready Patriots, we're in for the long haul.

"RESIST"

Fight
It starts and ends with our rights, those that are fighting to take them, and those who are fighting to preserve the legal acknowledgment of them.  We have chosen to use business and economics as one of the ways to resist.  It is what we know, it is what seems appropriate at this time and place.  Our company is motivated to work against the progressive agenda that is focused on restricting our freedom and rights, here and now.   


Rights
“...in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best ensure the beneficent ends of its institution.”- Preamble to the Bill of Rights

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.- Amendment 2

Realize first, that more Arms in the hands of the people, even if not actively used to secure a free state, passively offer the security to a free State.  

Recognize 
We are in a cold war.  Our very own Cultural Cold War is not being won. We had the home field advantage, our way of life is under attack and is only being realized by enough of the masses to maybe hit a tipping point.   

We have always been in a conflict of ideals in this country.  It even continued in domestic politics after we became a nation.  Thats ok, we have the freedom to believe what we want, which includes opposing viewpoints.  However it was usually opposing views from similar world views. The collective world view of Communism and Socialism has been on the offensive for so long in this country, and we have lost so much ground. It is to the point that many wonder if reestablishment of the constitutional republic is even possible, let alone without a hot conflict. Our way of life became undermined by collectivists that recognized how to weaken and influence over time, and enough people let them that it has over time proved a sound strategy for them.  If it is not to late for us all to fight back.  We as a business are taking the fight of freedom erosion to the gun manufacturing world.  

Here is the over simplified pictorial of how a cold war goes.  All it takes is for one side to not counter fast enough for the opposition to gain ground.  Since it is now clear that regardless of how we express our views on gun control more than half of the politicians will support what they feel they can get away with.  In the past 10 years we allowed to much time to lapse between moves. But now that the push to control is continuing like never before, let me explain how together, manufacturers and consumers, we can work together to fight them in ways that they understand, through money.




Move 1- We support our local gun community and family gun culture, we embrace the right to bear arms, and support the gun & ammo manufacturing industry as consumers and advocates, building skills and burning ammo.

Counter 1- They don’t waste a crisis, blame the evil in the world on a inanimate object.  They simplify the cause they categorize the object (Arms) into a new demonized group.  Then provide the over simplified solution by making it seem like the problem will go away.

Move 2- We learn and study the laws and the mentality of our opponent.  We learn where in the rules, and definitions we have a angle.  We learn how they are describing the reality that they perceive it.  Then we change the object, characteristics, technology, or attributes that are locked into their poorly conceived rules.  the market then makes the solution known and available for the larger population.  

Counter 2- They blame business, manufactures, or other group of people who are perceived responsible for the change in the landscape.  They look for another crisis to blame on the demonized group of people associated with evil inanimate object.  

Move 1- We fight to develop stronger community of support and cultural identity that is resistant to the blame game through both strength and intelligence.  Build more skills and burn more ammo, prepare and maneuver.

Act
Manufactures cannot do it on our own.  The consumer needs to act, as we see now voting with your wallet and hard earned resources is the way to get your point across.  The fight now is to defend your ability to own Arms that they consider evil because they are both modern, and military based.  Almost every log gun has been both modern and military based when the design was new.  Now they have their sights fixed on the AR15 more than anything else. If you own a AR15 here is how you can act to “insure” your gun.  If you don’t own one, here is a chance to own a AR15 that you can customize and build.  

Buy a 80% receiver! Enjoy the pride of ownership more than you would buying a gun off the rack.  Use it to hedge against the strong possibility that the AR15 you own will have its model name listed on a government ban list in the future.  We think it would be better to buy it from our company than any other source, yes we are biased.  But you will be to when you compare our product to others.   

Support
We were the kids that drove teachers and authority figures nuts, we are still doing it to the government within our own company culture.  We try to find a way around the stupid rules to get a point across.  We value helping the cause as much as we ask for help. 

Many of our freedoms have been legislated away, scarcity and value go together.  We not only value the freedom, but are willing and able to show the futility of legislation trying to push a “progressive morality”.  You need to be concerned, and fight for the formation or maintenance of like minded community identity. 

Fight the labels with your words, do not use the terms that they use.  Stick to the common language that binds our culture together, there are no assault weapons, just Arms.  Keep actively fighting their labeling, there should be no separation between hunters and shooters because of what color the gun is.  There should not be distain for other gun owners in different states  that are being attacked more overtly.

Non compliance to unjust laws is one way of resisting.  They can’t make you do anything you don’t choose with a risk vs. reward equation.  Actively flaunting the flaws in their plans or laws is a way to resist also.  

We are throwing effort and significant resources into the active resistance.  Support your resistance and vote with your actions and wallets.  The best way to get under a politician’s skin is to show them they can’t control you.  

I want to hear the Country wide “slap” of Progressive Lawmakers collectively applying a face-palm When there are enough Arms they label as “Assault Weapons” in the hands of the public they will feel the impact of the move / counter cycle.  Let them know they have a fight on their hands.  

Learn about and support the innovation of companies that have brought you bullet buttons, “featureless” rifle grips,  80% lower receivers, home manufacture of guns, reloading, smuggling, whatever it takes. Keep the cold war risky in order to slow the onset of a hot war as long as possible.  Once time is up, it will never be the same again.

Survival fishing


Fishing Tackle in Your Prep Kit
Fishing can be a very effective way to sustain yourself in a survival situation, and can take up very little space in a prep kit if you want it to.  Although a full fishing setup is optimal, you can get away with the bare essentials if you need to.  There are a couple of key things you will want to consider when packing your prep kit for survival.

1.  Fishing Line  -  There is a plethora of different fishing lines out on the market.  Monofilament fishing line is your standard fishing line.  It has a couple attributes which are bad for prepping and fishing in general, the number one being, it has a shelf life of about 2 years, and can be much less depending on how much sun exposure it gets.   It also floats, so if your bait/fly/lure doesn't sink, it will land on the meniscus of the water, and any light rays passing through your line will throw a shadow underneath which can spook some fish.  And if it does sink, monofilament fishing line has a much different translucency than water.  To a fish, it can look like a drinking straw is coming off your hook in the right conditions.  The line you want is Fluorocarbon Fishing line.  It lasts for hundreds of years, with or without sun exposure.  It sinks without weight, and accurately matches the translucency of water.  Pound for pound, it's much better than monofilament, but it cost about 3 times more.  8lb test is a good standard for most of North America, but a range of different lines is optimal.  I know that's some techy shit just for fishing line, but every little bit matters when it comes to winning.

2.  Hooks -  Choose your hooks wisely. Gamakatsu fine wire octopus hooks in a size 12 will hook just about any fish besides pike and muskie. Bad hooks will corrode over time and use. Good hooks will last a long long time and allow you to re sharpen them. Your best pair of wire snips will not cut a good fishing hook.  I've tried them all, Daiiche, Tiemco, MFC, Umpqua, Owner, Etc...  Gamakatsu is by far the best.  The Japanese really know their steel.

3.  Knots -  Knowing your knots is essential, not just for fishing, but survival in general.  You can easily carry any purpose knots you know for fishing into a survival situation easily.  For instance a  Perfection loop used for rigging lines, is that same knot you would use for making a snare.  The knots you use can also be detrimental to the quality or your fishing rig.  A simple (double over hand knot) for instance, cuts the breaking strength of your line in half as opposed to a perfection loop which serves the same purpose but only cuts the breaking strength by 5%. 

4. Rod/ Reel - What you need for this is going to depend on what you're fishing.  If you're fishing a small stream or pond, hand lining is simple and effective.  If you're fishing a river you will need a rod and reel of some sort for quick retrieval and corrections. And for a lake you will need distance, and a long rod comes in handy there.  Poles and reels are things you can usually fashion out of stuff around you, but it's tough to beat having a real rod and reel when you need it.  Obviously something that breaks down small is best, but most fishing rods break easily, and I think its necessary to understand how to get by without one.  Taking a thin 6' Branch at fastening some kind of loop to the end of it will give you the lever needed to set the hook, and learning to use your hands in place of a reel with a drag will come quickly after practice.  You can use an empty pop can as a reel spool in a pinch.

5.  Bait -  Bait is as important as everything else, I just thought of it last.  Learn how to fly fish.  Although it's not as simple as hand lining, and the technique is much more difficult than regular spin fishing,  the Technology behind it is stone age.  Yes, a Rapala or a Mepps will catch fish too, but a well versed Fly Fisherman that understands the basic entomology of lakes and rivers will catch more fish more places.  These are the basic food types of freshwater fish of North America.  Caddis, Mayflies, Stoneflies, Terrestrials, and other animals( mice, frogs, fish, crawdads, etc.).  Knowing the life cycles of these bugs and how different kinds of environments effect them is a priceless piece of knowledge. And having some basic imitations for each one will ensure that you have the ability to catch a fish in any freshwater area.  If you want to spin fish you can get yourself a water bobber which will get you the weight needed to cast tiny flies, and doubles as a bobber/indicator.   You can almost always find grubs, worms, and other bugs in a pinch.   Nothing beats knowledge.

Sturgeon Fishing 101

Thanks for the invitation for a guest post on this subject.
To be totally honest I am no kind of expert by any stretch of the imagination.
I know several guys who have sturgeon fished their whole lives and were kind enough to take me out a few times and teach me the basics.

Sturgeon are the largest fresh water fish in North America yet few people even know they exist. They can be found in the Northern hemisphere only, from Eurasia to North America on both coasts and in the Great Lakes region.
Most people are only dimly aware of sturgeon as their eggs are harvested when caught to make caviar in Russia and other places. This is probably for the better because sturgeon stocks world wide are all teetering on the edge of annihilation due to over fishing and environmental degradations.

There are many different types of sturgeon but here on the West Coast there are mainly two, the Green and the White. It is illegal to retain Green sturgeon.



Sturgeon are often referred to as living fossils as they have been around for over two hundred million years with little change. They are slow growing and can live to be over a hundred years old and do not reach sexual maturity until about twenty years of age.
They can also grow to immense size.


I can only relate my experience fishing for White sturgeon in the Columbia river on the borders of Washington and Oregon but I would imagine as they are all similar that the techniques would be also.

Sturgeon fishing is classified as sport fishing but it is a very serious undertaking. These things get big enough to yank you right off your feet or out of your seat in a boat.
I saw a reproduction of an old newspaper article in the Oregonian telling of a guy back in the late 1800's fishing for sturgeon near Oregon city using a rope, a meat hook and an entire rabbit for bait. He hooked into a monster and after twelve hours of people trying to land it, they hooked a team of horses to the rope to drag the fish in and it instead, drug the horses into the river and drowned them.
The minimum length of a sturgeon legal to keep is , I believe, 38 inches and you can't keep any over 54. That is measuring from the tip of the snout to the middle of the fork in the tail.
You are only allowed to keep ONE per year now. Sturgeon this small are only a few years old and are not sexually mature yet.
You can fish for them only in certain areas during certain times, check your local regulations as they are subject to frequent changes.
Sublegal fish are referred to as "shakers" as you usually just have to shake the hook out of their mouths to release them.

It is not uncommon to see large sturgeon breach out of the water like whales do, I have seen them jump six feet out of the water before.


Guided tours are popular and people come from all over the world to catch them, especially the huge ones that weigh in near a half ton or better.

Sturgeon are bottom feeders and have no teeth. They use their snout to stir up the bottom and they have four barbels like a catfish that they use to sense edible goodies like fresh water mussels, craw dads and small fish.
Most everyone I know uses elastic thread to wrap either a big shrimp or piece of octopus around the hook for bait. They also like earthworms or a combination of all the above. Sometimes the guides who fish for huge oversized sturgeon will wrap a whole shad on. They call it a fish taco.

Bank fishing requires a very long and very stout pole to use as a catapult to cast three to five ounces of lead weight over two hundred feet trying to get to deep water where they live and feed. These poles are usually ten to eleven feet long with an open faced reel and 60 to 80 pound test line. It is quite common to see stainless steel wire leaders also. You can only use a single barbless hook.
Boat fishing for sturgeon is very similar to deep sea bottom fishing regarding poles and equipment.

Even though sturgeon have no teeth, they have rows of razor sharp spots on their backs and down both sides called " scutes" officially. Unofficially, we usually call them "you little fuckers".
Like I said, they are like several rows of razor blades standing on edge so handling them is difficult. Any resulting cuts invariably become infected unless aggressively treated immediately.
When hooked, the sturgeon tends to roll over and over, wrapping themselves up in the line and those scutes will fray and cut a line rather quickly.

When sturgeon bite, you will first notice the tip of your pole jump once or twice and then go still. You want to give them time to get the hook in their mouth and then pick up the pole gently and set the hook with a hard pull.




You have to remember you are using barbless hooks so a steady and unrelenting pressure is required to keep them on the line. The following short video will give you an idea of what you will be dealing with:



Once you actually land one of these monsters that is legal to keep you are now faced with a new dilemma. They do not have scales and it is EXTREMELY CRITICAL that you clean and fillet them in a certain manner.
If you just try and fillet one and cook it without doing it right, you will take one bite, spit it out and swear you will never touch another. There are two layers under the skin and you have to completely remove the outer red layer .
However, done right, this will make the best tasting deep fried fish and chips you have ever eaten. You can also broil or bake it. Sturgeon has a firm, white flesh and is delicious when prepared properly. Broiled with butter spread on top is often called a poor mans lobster.

If you ever get the chance to catch a sturgeon it is something I guarantee you will never forget as long as you live.

Hey, thanks for this informative post. I know a couple guys at work that take a yearly trip up to the Columbia for the sturgeon fishing. There's sturgeon here in the Delta, but nothing in the class that you mention.
Yeah man, I'm pretty sure this is one of those fish that I mentioned not being able to take on an ultralight rod and 2 pound test line.

Fish traps




     I'm no good at catching fish one at a time, but I grew up on a commercial fishing boat. Here's a couple of fish traps- the first one is good for streams- using closely-spaced poles can substitute for a net as a way to get fish to congregate for a short while and increase your catch with rod and reel or a spear. You can also net off streams if you've got a net and take everything and the poles can be stacked nearby when not in use. You can't leave it too long, as any trash or branches can screw it all up as they come downstream. 


 For saltwater,  I used to help tend a sardine weir in downeast Maine, too, when I was in college. This is a permanent shoreline trap requiring an investment in time and 3-4 people with a good boat and access to nets.  They trap fish and then you  periodically corral the fish and heave them out of the water. An adult and a kid can tend and maintain the weir, but you need 4 strong people to build it and hang the nets initially. Looks more intimidating than it is. The picture shows a big ass one that provided about 10% of the US's canned sardines in the 50's and 60's. A manageable weir is 5,000-7,000 sq feet. 

Depending on where someone is, a serviceable crab trap, or crayfish trap if in fresh water, can be made from a 5 gallon bucket with a lid if you can bury it to where the lip is only 1-2 inches above the gravel. The hole in the lid needs to be only 2-3 times the body size of whatever you're looking to catch.  You poke 1-2 small holes an inch or two above the bottom, insert string with a slipknot at the end (to hold bait), put the lid on and bury it.

Patriots helping Patriots catch some fish

Okay, after reading the comments I've already gotten in the fishing preps post from yesterday, it's real obvious that there are people out there that are better qualified to write it than me. I'm a sport fisherman, pretty much limited to largemouth bass, trout and catfish. Never caught a pike, muskie or sturgeon. I can survive on my catch, but not thrive.

Promulgating Evil (guest post)

To all,
Well........our illustrious leader wants to use drones to hunt down Americans.  Sen. Feinstein says it is “legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines.”  In a recent poll by MSNBC, 78% of people who responded approved of executing Americans without trial.
Is anyone surprised?????????
They approve of abortion, they approve of hunting down humans, they approve of executing Americans.
THEY APPROVE OF MURDER.
They have no morals and if we don't step up and do something, this country will fall down the slippery slop even closer to socialism similar to another country which landed in the depths of evil and resulted with a political party entitled the "National Socialist German Worker's Party".  We know it as the "Nazis".
If you want to give up your guns just as those in Germany did, you are a fool.  If you want to agree with allowing only small magazines on firearms, you are blind.  Why?  Those who may barge into your home will not be playing by any rules.  If they can get a 15 round magazine, they will...a 30 round magazine, they will, a 150 round magazine as one of our socialist senators advocate, they will.  And you may be stuck with five rounds or less to protect your home and family.  Be wise.  

Isaiah said it succinctly and wisely in the fifth chapter:

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight!
22 Woe to men mighty at drinking wine,
Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,
23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe,
And take away justice from the righteous man!

Ask them. 
Ask them if they have accepted money to do away with our guns, to treat us as evil ones when in fact, they are the ones who are promulgating evil.

Hypocrisy

To all,
It has come to this...hypocrisy on parade.    
Our illustrious government led by our illustrious leader has promulgated the following:
1.  Our enemies can have F-16 jets and Abram tanks while our only ally in the Middle East gets shortchanged.
2.  Law abiding Americans are not to have firearms while those defense weapons are sold to Mexican drug cartels.
3.  The government pours money down the drain to support those who do not want to work but the monetary spigot has been turned off for those magnificent fly overs by military aircraft at sports events.
America is rapidly becoming Amerika.
Where did we find people who advocate these "brilliant" decisions and how can we return them to where they originated?

America was founded by conservative individuals who loved the country which they assembled and fought for, some to the death, to keep this republic, this government which has lasted longer than any on this earth.  It is that good.  And yet, those "progressives" in command call it bad, call it worthless, call it one to shred while many in this country have become "useful idiots" as Vladimir Lenin called them and just love the direction these progressives, aka socialists, are taking us.  Those of us whom have been to countries with oppressive governments or ones which are valiantly attempting to rid themselves of history's failures, fear what will happen when socialism firmly and successfully wraps its talons around our lives.  Then, this country will return to our God, not a cult from another society, but to Jesus while they valiantly attempt to escape the dark, light-less oppression known as tyranny.

Autism Communication, Safety and LEO

Imagine you're in a foreign country; you barely understand the language and know only a few practical phrases. You're out in public and feel an anxiety attack coming. Suddenly, you can't remember where you are, what you're doing there, can't remember anything you knew about the language, and your anxiety increases. People are talking to you; don't know what they're saying, but you know they aren't happy. You just want to disappear. Now the police are there; big, scary people, armed, and they are touching at you. You can't tell them to stop, who you are, or even what's wrong. You want to flee. And they get more angry and more aggressive. Finally, you snap. All thinking, all reason, is gone; you're in Fight or Flight mode and the police are more than willing to fight. This isn't going to end well, but you are helpless to stop it. Because you're Autistic and you've just had a public meltdown.

When you have an Autistic child, you get used to the well-meaning public's comments on spoiled kids and tantrums. And you are very clear that there is a difference between a child's tantrum and an Autistic meltdown. If you're a parent (or even know a small child), you're familiar with tantrums. But there are a few key differences:

  • Overstressed/overwhelmed, sensory overload
  • Reactive mechanism, will escalate with tension
  • Continues without attention, not designed to get attention
  • Personal safety and safety of others may be compromised
  • Key factor is fatigue
  • Not goal-oriented
  • May require assistance to regain control
  • Not age-relevant. From childhood through adulthood

The key elements to an Autistic meltdown is stimulation and comprehension. An autistic person, at the best of times, has trouble sorting and making sense of sensory stimulation and can easily become overwhelmed; this usually results in either meltdown or shutdown. Eye contact is uncomfortable to many on the Autism spectrum. As control deteriorates, eye contact will become worse. Demanding it will throw fuel on the fire. Communication skills are basic to non-existent; and under duress, they have a tendency to disappear completely. So an Autistic person, who in good shape, could tell you his or her name and basic info, will become non-verbal in a meltdown. And it's not just expressive language that suffers. Receptive language also fails.

Remember Charlie Brown's teacher? “Whah-wha-wha-wha-whah.” “What?!” Like being in a foreign country, an Autistic person in meltdown doesn't have the ability to comprehend what others are saying. Your words become noise. Added to noise. Added to multiple other sensory inputs that become an irritant and distraction. Ratchet up the anxiety level another notch. In meltdown, you'll often see the person cover his ears. This isn't defiance, this is protection.

Most Autistic people also have very strong aversions to physical touch. In a relaxed mood, in good times, you might get a fist bump, or even a hug. But it will be brief, initiated by them, and ended by them. Follow their cues and don't force it. So in meltdown, grabbing, holding, restraining, hitting, is going to escalate the meltdown. The only time restraint is called for is when the person is in IMMINENT DANGER OF HARMING HIMSELF OR OTHERS. Let me repeat, IMMINENT DANGER. There are proper restraint techniques. Sadly, these situations are becoming more frequent with the increase in Autism, and the general public is unprepared to handle them. Imagine being in a restaurant when someone who appears to be a normal adult at first glance completely loses control. Very few people's first response would be, “Oh, Autistic meltdown. I know just what to do!” And as scary as this is, it's worse in an emergency situation with EMTs, fire department personnel or law enforcement. You have just taken a fragile situation and escalated without intention. The sights, sounds, strange people, and pain in an accident, assault an Autistic person's sensory balance and plunges him or her into chaos. Instant meltdown. Urgency in play, coaxing and patience may not seem possible; but if you're aware of the Autism factor, you can avoid certain triggers.

The problem with Autism, unfortunately, is it's scope of symptoms and severity. It is a BROAD Spectrum Disorder; and if you've seen one Autistic person, well, you've seen one Autistic person. But the basics of speaking, touch, and eye-contact seem to be fairly universal. Knowing talking, for instance, isn't going to get the response you're looking for and could make things worse, will allow you to choose a different means of communication. Sign language, pictures, and at basic-basic level, hand gestures can get more compliance. Touching, keep to a minimum. And if, to prevent the person from injuring himself or others, you must restrain, then please God, know what you're doing. In some situations, I've been able to get my daughter's attention by placing their hands on my chest and holding them there. But this is early in the meltdown. Many people on the Autism spectrum have a focus object, something they keep with them to calm them. My oldest has a horse figure, my youngest has a woobie. In an accident, if you can find the focus, you can help restore the calm. And if they're holding onto it, taking it away from them is a really, really bad idea.

Now, I know there are so many things that I haven't covered, and I feel like I might have raised more questions than I answered. But hopefully, I raised enough awareness to spur you on to seeking more information. And I also know that, even with an arsenal of info, if you can't recognize an Autistic person, you're behind the curve in an emergency. Recognizing Autism isn't easy unless you've lived with someone on the spectrum. That's why I have taken measures to help identify my girls for first responders. My basic suggestions are something on the person, ID card, dog tag, alert bracelet; something on the vehicles they most frequently ride in; and something on the doors and windows of your house. If you, the parent/caregiver are incapacitated, then there needs to be some clues for the first responders. The girls wear dog tags with name, emergency number, blood type, AUTISM/NON-VERBAL embossed on them. On the momvan and my parents' van, is a sticker “Autistic rider, non-verbal”; and on the doors and the windows of the house “Autistic occupants, Non-verbal”. We live in a small town, and the girls are known by just about everybody, but every year I go talk to the local sheriff and police chief and our EMT (yeah, we just have one), and just keep a rapport going. I also take pics of the girls with my cell phone every morning as a record of how they look and what they're wearing. Just in case. Parents of Special Needs kids have to plan for multiple contingencies, hopefully I've shared something you can use.

What, me worry?

To all,
I'm retired...I have nothing better to do than read things I find on the web.  Such as a wonderful document entitled:
 "The Department of Justice's Operation Fast and Furious:  Fueling Cartel Violence".
I have concluded that we have nothing to worry about from Diane Feinstein, Harry Reid, Eric Holder or the President.
Why?
They sold thousands of guns and still can't find most of them.  They're pathetic for a variety of reasons.  
1.  Our government sold guns to drug dealers resulting in the death of an American.
2.  Our government tried to cover it up.
3.  Our government "lost" such items as AK-47's, AR-15's, Barett 50's.  LOTS of them.

It was so pathetic that even after the ATF found out about what was happening, 1,418 weapons were sold.  AFTER the ATF knew...  and 1,048 weapons still remain missing.
If our government sold firearms to drug dealers and murderers, even after it became known what was going, continued to sell and lose them to those people, what do we have to worry about.  
Can they find their own shoes?

Furthermore, in the wording of Feinstein's proposed "Assault Weapons Ban of 2013", it states on page 14, lines 9-12:
"It shall be unlawful for a person to import, sell, manufacture, transfer or possess, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, a semiautomatic assault weapon."
Shouldn't somebody in the Federal government go to jail???

You're setting the price, folks.

The Great Southern Gun and Knife show is in Kenner, Louisiana this weekend. I live in Metairie about 6 miles from there. Safe to say, I won't be there! It's been coming around alot - about twice a month. This past weekend it was in Gonzales, LA. about 50 miles from here. My buddy went to get ammo because there is nothing worth having at any of our stores. Academy has not had a .22 on the shelf for a while now. Don't even look for .38,.357,.40,.41, .44, 5.56, 5.7,  or 7.62 x ANYTHING. Need shotgun shells, they have tons! 
Back to the story, So this guy  goes and buys a box of Winchester 333. 333 rounds per box usually about 11.00 locally.
They were charging 38 fucking dollars per 333. Since he paid that I told him he was part of the problem. 
What a shame, I went about 5 times last year. But, I'm also willing to keep the paper in my pocket and place me a nice little online order and wait the 3 weeks.

You're absolutely right though, Bobby. It's all about demand - if fuckers will pay it, that's what it'll sell for.

It wasn't very long ago that friends and relatives were laughing at me for buying 5.56 every week, even before I owned one, and look who's laughing now. I'm not hurting for ammo - matter of fact, I've got enough that if nothing happened, I will never run out for the rest of my life.

“…deaf to the voice of Justice…”



The images that are shown on a daily basis on maddmedic.wordpress.com give me pause as to what this country is about to be.  This Republic is perilously close to a society not being led towards continuing Liberty but towards the dark, frightening, cold hovel entitled Tyranny.   You may disagree but consider the concept that if someone who is in charge of our country is willing to send people to our doors to free us of our Constitutional freedom (firearms), then for what will he send those same people to our doors in the future?  After losing that Second Amendment, will we lose the Fourth Amendment and have federal employees in our homes addressing our improper comments be they verbal or in writing?  You may disagree but if he is willing to desecrate that portion of the document for those who died for it, he won’t have any problem chipping away at the other Amendments, the original Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. 
Once he begins, where will he stop?  The Declaration of Independence states:  “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”  Which will evaporate next?  Once the Constitution is shredded, Liberty will be right behind and then Happiness will follow.  History proves that other societies have lost those including “unneeded” lives which were excluded from society for reasons that define the term “evil”.  Are we to follow?
Currently, the government is ratcheting up its desire to take away firearms based on their words about saving the lives of children/students.  They tell us that to save the lives of those innocent children, guns must be taken out of the hands of the people in the country. 
They are Hypocrites.  They are lying as they know very well that the numbers of students murdered in this country each year by firearms by deranged individuals pale compared to the number of babies murdered in abortion clinics.  Since 1/1/2000, less than 15/year were murdered by firearms (Wikipedia) compared to 1,206,192/year who were murdered by abortionists (mccl.org) and if the politicians were truly concerned about the lives of their constituents, they would be honest and take a different tact. 
They are Hypocrites.  They know that Israel has had armed guards in every school since 1970 and not one student has been shot since.  Our brilliant politicians ignore success.
They are Hypocrites.  They are being deceitful as they want to be protected by armed guards and want us to be left unprotected when someone, uninvited, ends up in our homes.
They are Hypocrites.  They desire to take our firearms away and give firearms to Mexican drug dealers.  If taken from us, will our guns end up in the hands of other drug dealers in other countries?
They are Hypocrites.  They are setting up God-fearing, law abiding, America-loving, tax-paying people to fight against the government for their rights, those rights given to us by God and the documents that were so wisely written.  As stated in that famous document written on July 4, 1776, this government has been “deaf to the voice of Justice”.
For those of you whom are unarmed and have nothing to worry about now, please pray for those of us who believe it necessary to fight for our Liberty, pray for wisdom on how to battle that which is called Tyranny, and pray that God will continue to prevail and that He will continue to bless America.
