CJ Hopkins: (New Normal) Winter Is Coming

That’s right, it’s nearly time once again for the global-capitalist ruling classes to whip the New Normal masses into a state of mindless mass hysteria over an imaginary apocalyptic virus. the same imaginary apocalyptic virus that they have whipped the New Normal masses into a state of mass hysteria over throughout the Winter for the last two years.

They’ve got their work cut out for them this time. Seriously, how much more mass hysterical could the New Normals possibly get at this point?

The vast majority of the Western world has been transformed into a pseudo-medical dystopia in which you have to show your “health-purity papers” to enter a cafĂ© and get a cup of coffee. People who refuse to get experimentally “vaccinated” against a virus that causes mild-to-moderate symptoms (or, often, no symptoms whatsoever) in about 95% of the infected, and the overall infection fatality rate of which is approximately 0.1% to 0.5%, are being systematically segregated, stripped of their jobs, denied medical treatment, demonized as “a danger to society,” censored, fined, and otherwise persecuted.

If you think I’m overstating the case, look at the front page of this Australian newspaper …

The Five Universal Laws of Human Stupidity

In 1976, a professor of economic history at the University of California, Berkeley published an essay outlining the fundamental laws of a force he perceived as humanity’s greatest existential threat: Stupidity.

Stupid people, Carlo M. Cipolla explained, share several identifying traits: they are abundant, they are irrational, and they cause problems for others without apparent benefit to themselves, thereby lowering society’s total well-being. There are no defenses against stupidity, argued the Italian-born professor, who died in 2000. The only way a society can avoid being crushed by the burden of its idiots is if the non-stupid work even harder to offset the losses of their stupid brethren.

Let’s take a look at Cipolla’s five basic laws of human stupidity:

Rittenhouse Trial Day 3: State’s Own Witnesses Damage Prosecution, Reinforce Self-Defense Narrative

Welcome to today’s Law of Self Defense ongoing coverage of the Kyle Rittenhouse trial. I am, of course, Attorney Andrew Branca, for Law of Self Defense.

This third day of the trial was perhaps the worst yet for ADA Thomas Binger’s efforts to have Kyle Rittenhouse convicted and sentenced to life in prison for having shot three men (two fatally) the night of August 25, 2020 in Kenosha WI, when the city was suffering a tsunami of rioting, looting, and arson following the lawful shooting of a knife-wielding Jacob Blake by Kenosha police officers.

And that’s really saying something because its’ not like the prosecution out-performed in the first two days of the trial. Indeed, coming into today, the state had yet to present any evidence that was substantively inconsistent with Kyle’s legal defense of self-defense—none.

Stephen Dee Richards

Stephen D. Richards or Samuel D. Richards (March 18, 1856 – April 26, 1879), also known in the media as The Nebraska Fiend, Kearney County Murderer, and The Ohio Monster, was an American serial killer who confessed to committing nine murders in Nebraska and Iowa between 1876 and 1878.

Richards was born in West Virginia in 1856. His family would later move to Ohio, eventually settling in the Quaker village of Mount Pleasant. In 1876, Richards left his home and headed westward with the intention of seeking his fortune. For a time, he found work at a local asylum; he claimed that during his time there, he lost all empathy for other people. When Richards later confessed to his crimes, he claimed to have committed his first murder sometime in late 1876, two weeks after arriving in Kearney, Nebraska. He would go on to commit several other murders, which he later claimed were done in self-defense. Richards fled after murdering Mary L. Harlson and her three children, but was captured in Mount Pleasant. In 1879, he was convicted of the murders of the Harlson family, as well as the killing of neighbor Peter Anderson, and hanged.

Election Edition

It's important to keep elections in perspective. The Youngkin win in Virginia was a backlash against wokeness and willful societal destruction in the name of not being a horrible person. The old saying "nice guys finish last" reflects the rough and tumble world of politics. For those who would rather maintain civility, decency and self respect, it's sometimes better to lose than to get into the gutter with one's opponent just to win, depending on what one stands to win. When it comes to a bonus, or a raise, one might opt to remain decent and faithful to the virtues one promotes to his children. When it comes to the survival of the nation or the culture, there are no depths that should not be plumbed in order to win that fight, because no virtue is taught by starvation or execution.

Venezuelans Turn to Gold Nuggets as the Local Currency Implodes

The Venezuelan government recently lopped off six zeros from its hyperinflating currency, the bolivar. The highest denomination currency note of 1 million bolivars, worth less than $0.25, was replaced by a one-bolivar note. At the same time, a 100-bolivar note, worth about $25.00, was introduced as the new highest denomination of the bolivar. The currency conversion was designed to spare the government the embarrassment of having to issue a 100-million bolivar note to enable people to purchases everyday items without having to carry around bundles of notes, given that the price of a loaf of bread had risen to 7 million old bolivars. Of course, the arbitrary scaling down of the denomination of the currency will not slow inflation, because the new currency notes can be printed just as cheaply as the old. The bolivar has already lost 73 percent of its value in 2021 alone and the IMF estimates the annual inflation rate will reach 5,500 percent by the end of 2021.

Might be worth your time and effort to accumulate a little gold yourself with the way things are going.
There are online dealers, but they generally charge a premium per coin or bar as well as a State tax for your entire purchase, driving the price over a hundred bucks or more above spot which at the time of this writing is $1785 per troy ounce - a troy ounce being 31.1034 grams. For instance, one reputable online seller charges a premium of anywhere between 60 and 90 bucks per piece, then there's taxes, and let's not forget shipping, handling and insurance - I don't know what that'll run you because I never could get past the premiums.
Check around and find yourself a hobbyist coin dealer and buy from them - it'll be strictly a cash transaction, but it'll keep the government out of your back pocket. I've seen coin and gold dealers at every gun show I've been to. Coin shops, I know nothing about - they may not charge you a premium, but I can just about bet they'll charge you a sales tax.
Buy 1/10 ounce coins. Not only is it a little less painful buying those one or two at a time rather than shelling out a couple thousand bucks for a one ounce coin, but if the economy does collapse and you're using it as currency, it'll be a whole lot easier getting change for a $235 coin than it is for a $2000 coin. Yes, smaller denominations are more expensive to buy than larger ones, but gold buyers are also more receptive in buying back smaller coins than larger ones. You can figure on getting eight 1/10 ounce coins for the same price of a 1 ounce coin, but when it comes time to sell, you can sell those eight coins back to your seller for the same price as a 1 ounce coin.
Stick with established and well recognized coins - Gold Eagles, Britannia, Maple Leafs, Krugerrands, shit like that. Minted coins are always a little more valuable than bullion gold of the same weight. Commemorative coins may look cool, but your Donald Trump coin is also going to come under a hell of a lot more scrutiny when it comes time to sell.
If you prefer bullion instead, there's  cute little 1, 2.5, 5 and 10 gram bars as far as smaller sizes go. Just make sure they are certified and sealed in the packaging they come in - they don't have the fine detailing that minted coins do, and a lot of dealers won't buy them back unless they sold them to you to begin with and you have a very trusting relationship with them.

Now, after all that, don't take my word for shit. While I've dealt quite a bit with gold buyers back in my placer mining days, that was all raw gold and that's a whole 'nother ball game.
If you have any questions, find a gold or coin buyer/seller and talk to them. I've never met one that wasn't a straight shooter - they have to be, in that business their reputation is everything.

Robert E. Lee's Time Capsule

On October 27, 1887 a copper time capsule was placed in the cornerstone of the Robert E. Lee monument’s pedestal in Richmond, Virginia.  What was inside??

Records from the Library of Virginia suggest that 37 Richmond residents, organizations, and business contributed about 60 objects to the capsule, real, tangible artifacts of both Richmond and America’s history.

On June the 4, 2020, however, Virginia governor Ralph Northam announced that the Robert E. Lee monument in Richmond, along with all other statues along monument avenue that had been erected to commemorate Civil War Veterans would be removed and on September 8, 2021 crews from the city executed the governor’s orders bringing the history of Monument Avenue to a close.

In an effort to further destroy the historic integrity of the site, Governor Northam announced plans to replace the 134-year old time capsule embedded in the pedestal with a new time capsule that was deemed more representative of modern culture in Virginia and more palatable to modern society as a whole.

Thankfully crews were unable to locate the original time-capsule and so it remains in it’s rightful place as a part of Virginia and our countries history.

But what was inside?

A recent ransomware attack from a ransomware group known as “Grief” (with alleged ties to well known Russian cybercrime group Evil Corp), has stated that they hold 13 key files belonging to theNational Rifle Association that they intend to hold hostage or leak unless the NRA pays the ransom which is of an undisclosed value. At the time of writing, the NRA has declined to make any definitive statements confirming whether or not Grief had actually breached NRA cybersecurity and if the nonprofit 2nd amendment organization plans on paying any ransom.

Multi-tasking like a boss

A Maryland Democratic state lawmaker is under fire for logging on to political meetings on Zoom from a hospital operating room where she works as a plastic surgeon — with “blood-stained towels” occasionally in full view.

Maryland State Delegate Terri Hill allegedly engaged in “unprofessional conduct in the practice of medicine” for joining at least two Zoom meetings with other state legislators while she was in the middle of surgery last year, according to the Associated Press.

How To Identify, Treat, and Prevent Chicken Lice

It might seem strange to learn that even chickens can become infested with lice. They eat bugs, after all, but these external parasites are not the typical run-of-the-mill chicken treat-type bug.

They spread fast and can cause severe problems for the entire flock.

Identifying an infestation early, and treating the flock quickly, is extremely important to prevent a decline in health, and in some cases death.

I want to mention not to panic if you find lice present in your flock. This has been a battle for generations and there are ways to identify, treat, and prevent lice on your chickens.

The Pig of Lucerne

Below is a photograph of one of Lucerne’s most famous tourist attraction. You may recognize it as the “Lion of Lucerne”— a rock relief sculpture of a mortally wounded lion hewn into the rocky face of a large cliff in a former sandstone quarry near Lucerne, in central Switzerland. The monument was dedicated in memory of the Swiss Guards who lost their lives defending the Tuileries Palace in Paris during the 1792 French Revolution. The dying lion symbolizes the soldiers’ courage, strength, and willingness to die rather than to betray their oath of service.

Catch of the Day

A New Jersey man set a new record after catching a salmon in a landlocked lake. While the fish was actually caught in September, the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife recently confirmed the record.

 *****

An 8 pound 10 ounce salmon broke the record? Hell, I've caught Big Ass Trout bigger than that.
New Melones up near Angels Camp should be turning sometime in the next month and those BATs will be hitting the shallows.
I do miss that.
