Harris-Walz ‘Hunters & Anglers’ Push Flops with Gun Owners …Nice Try, But No Thanks

In what can only be described as a political Hail Mary, the Harris-Walz campaign is making a desperate attempt to reel in support from rural America with their newly minted “Hunters & Anglers for Harris” coalition. [huntersanglers4harris.com]

Yes, you read that right—the same Kamala Harris who’s spent years backing gun control is suddenly pretending to care about your Second Amendment rights. Spoiler alert: no one’s buying it.

You’ve got to hand it to them—the Harris camp is really swinging for the fences here. They’ve gone from being openly hostile toward gun owners to staging a full-on charm offensive, complete with camo hats and promises of “supporting traditional hunting,” whatever that is. It’s almost as if they think tossing on a cheap hat and awkwardly holding a shotgun will make gun owners forget all the times they’ve tried to strip us of our rights.

Now who would've thunk that?

The Right’s Rousseau Problem

The Left often sees Jean-Jacques Rousseau as a champion of equality and uses his criticisms of economic inequality and elite power. Take David Lay Williams, for example, a Rousseau scholar who recently claimed in the New York Times that Rousseau can give us special insight into Donald Trump. Supposedly, Rousseau can help us see why Trump thrives by stoking division—he pits Americans against each other in order to distract them from growing economic inequality. As Williams quotes Rousseau in the Second Discourse, “Chiefs foment everything that can weaken assembled men by disuniting them.”

But this kind of interpretation misses something crucial. Rousseau didn’t just warn about money and class in his writings: he was also worried about the breakdown of shared identity and culture—that is, citizenship. The Left loves to champion Rousseau when it’s convenient, but they ignore his warnings about what happens when people no longer see themselves as part of a shared community.

Hyde Park Gunfight in Newton, Kansas

On August 20, 1871, one of the largest gunfights to ever take place in the American West was fought in Newton, Kansas. Scales of Injustice

We have seen this in city and county commissions and board of educations across the nation concerning actions they have taken to harm or otherwise corrupt the decency of children. Suddenly, and without justification, except self-preservation and continuance of their unnatural policies, the government has arrested citizens for the crime of exposing their criminal activity to the eyes of fellow citizens. The laws they pass and the justifications for their actions are illegal, the people writing and passing those laws or policies are violating everything that makes civil coexistence possible.
